Teams

If you want to get in on the action for a little friendly rivalry and competition, contact Barbara Holmes Balmer by April 15 each year.

Current Teams are listed HERE

Team Setup

  • Teams will be drawn at Random
  • Teams should think of a Team Name
  • Team names can be recycled, first come, first served
  • Let the Games Begin!

Teams will be drawn at random. Choose a Captain.

Your Captain should arrange for a wildcard at the event if the Team does not have a full Team riding. Make sure your membership is current!

Team Names are selected yearly based on a theme
All riders' points count in the collection of results and there is a bonus for a full team completion. Each team must pick a captain to submit the results within 30 days of the ride. You must also decide on a team name! If you are planning to recycle a team name, it will be reassigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

RULES

Membership

1. All riders must be members in good standing with ERABC.

2. Only ERABC sanctioned rides are eligible.

3. ERABC members that wish to participate in the teams must confirm their participation with the Teams Organizer by April 15th.

4. Each team may have a maximum of five members to be drawn randomly. Teams will be posted to the ERABC web site prior to the first ERABC ride of the season.

5. Each team must then elect their Captain who will be responsible for submitting the team’s results to the Database Manager.

6. Incomplete teams may draw for names of new members at the ride meeting of the 2nd ride of the ERABC ride season

    Points

7. A minimum of three, and up to five completing riders in the same ride, in any distance, will receive team points for that ride. If a team has fewer than 3 completing riders, including a wild card, no points will count.

If a 6 member team has only 5 members at a ride, they are not allowed a wildcard to cover that 6th person -- less than 5 they can have a wildcard. This evens the playing field for the 5 member teams. This will apply to all rides, including those that have already taken place -- i.e. if a 6 member team had 5 members and a wildcard, I will cancel the wildcard. If all members of a 6 member team participate at a ride, then I will only count the top 5 members points.

8. The Team Captain must submit the teams ride results to the Database Manager within 30 days of the ride date for the team points to stand. The information submitted must include riders’ names, distance, placement, and High Vet Score and Best Condition if applicable.

9. The points are tabulated by the Database Manager and submitted to the Web Mistress (!) for posting.

10. The team points will be the addition of the three up to five rider’s individual points taken from the ERABC point’s scale added together. Example as follows:

  • Rider A – 50 mile 1st place 150 points
  • Rider B - 50 mile 11th place 50 points
  • Rider C - 100 mile 11th place 150 points
  • Total team points – 350

11. High Vet Score and Best Condition riders will receive an additional 25 points for the team with any distance completed. In the event the same horse and rider team receive HVS and BC he/she will receive 50 points.

12. Junior riders will be treated as senior riders they will receive senior points appropriate to the over all placement only for the team.

13. A team finishing all five original team members will receive a bonus of 50 points. If a team member is the Ride Manager, the team may have the wildcard rider count as an original member for that ride only to receive the bonus points.

Wild Card Rider

14. The team may pick a wild card rider at any ride to ride for the team.

15. The wild card rider must not be a member of any other team.

16. The team must not have more than five riders riding for it at any given ride.

17. The team must declare to Ride Management, a wild card rider before the ride has started.

18. A wild card rider may be any member of ERABC not already on a team.

19. A wild card rider may ride for one team only at a ride. They may ride for more than one team within the ride season.
